The 3 Obstructions (Food Forest) 三道障碍（食物森林）[2016]
This work is a homage and experiment recalling Danish director Lars von Trier’s The Five Obstructions.
The 3 obstructions listed are:
The work must not be taken within a studio setting;
The models must be three different women who live on food stamps;
The artist must spend time with each model for at least five hours.
The title “Food Forest” tributes to the cult film Chunking Express by Wong Kar-Wai. At the same time the film’s iconic original soundtracks, eerie lightings, and free-handed camera movements are appropriated to create this semi-documentary about food culture of the unemployed in American society.
这部作品是对丹麦导演拉尔斯·冯·提尔的《五个障碍》的致敬和实验。
给这个作品的三个障碍是：
作品不得在摄影棚内拍摄；
模特必须是靠食品券生存的三个不同的女人；
艺术家必须花时间和每个模特在一起至少五个小时。
与此同时，片名 “食物森林” 的灵感来源是王家卫执导的电影《重庆森林》，其标志性的原声音乐、诡异的灯光和自由的摄像镜头都被用来制作这部“半纪录片”——关于美国社会失业女性的饮食文化。
